Be good at something. It makes you valuable... have something to bring to the table, because that will make you more welcome. ~ Randy Pausch, Walt Disney Company Imagineer
At the age of fourteen, I felt I was being called to pediatrics and wanted to help children through their day as a nurse. I worked for ten years at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas in the Pediatric Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit and two years at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida in the Pediatric Peri-Anethesia Care Unit. I had planned during those years in hospital nursing to go into School Nursing at some point in my career that would allow me to take care of kids everyday with a larger continuity of care. Our family was moved to Florida as part of a business move and was able to move back to Texas in 2010 and in the process of moving back, I chose to leave Hospital Nursing and pursue School Nursing.
I enjoy taking care of students each day and helping them get through their school day. This is my sixth year as the nurse at McAnally Intermediate in Aledo ISD.
I am wife and mother of two children (a son and a daughter). Our family enjoys traveling and natural light photography. Our favorite places to visit are The Walt Disney World Company (where we have been known to stay up way past our bedtime chasing pixie dust on many occasions), beautiful South Carolina (GO GAMECOCKS!) beaches (where a few ghost tours at night have almost made us jump out of our skin), and adventures internationally and locally in Texas.
Please let me know how I can help care for your child at McAnally and keep them healthy in the classroom.
